Canes won 3-2 last night. It was kinda a bullshit game so this is going to be a bull shit recap because the game pissed me off.

The Pens got into a 3-0 hole early and could never recover. Crosby and Rupp scored two quick goals in the second to mae it 3-2 but the Pens couldn’t find the net to tie it. Billy Guerin had a wide open net on the PP but it was deflected away.

Fleury made some huge saves just to keep the Pens in it. They almost tied it with the goalie pulled again.

Carolina is still a joke. They suck.

Next game is Thursday against Montrealt. Just another reason for me to make fun of Canadians.

Tonight the Pens will look to get back on the winning track when they host the lowly Carolina Hurricanes.  This will be the second meeting between the teams this year. In the first meeting in Carolina the Pens defeated the Hurricanes 3-2 in a shootout.

This time around however the ‘Canes will be without their top goalie Cam Ward who is recovering from a gash in his leg that was caused by the skate of Rick Nash during a game earlier in the year. Even with Cam Ward in goal this year the Hurricanes have struggled. They are currently in last place in the Eastern Conference.

This is also a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Final series where the Pens embarrassed the Hurricanes by sweeping them 4-0 and eliminating them from the playoffs.

Sidney Crosby will return to the lineup tonight after missing Saturday’s game with a sore groin. Chris Kunitz and Alex Goligoski returned to practice today but will miss tonight’s game. Their return date is unknown at this point.

Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to get the start in goal.

Tonight’s game begins at 7:30 and will be broadcast live on FSN Pittsburgh.
